Berrien Center

Earth First Farms // 8335 Smith Rd Berrien Center, MI 49102

Earth First Farms is Southwest Michigan’s award-winning, certified organic, apple orchard. From u-pick apples, prepicked apples, to fresh apple cider, you are sure to make a day of hanging out at this sustainable farm. They are well known in the community for their annual Harvest Party during the last weekend in September. You can find live music, delicious food, hayrides out to the orchard, cider, pantry goods, and other activities.

Bloomfield Hills

Franklin Cider Mill // 7450 Franklin Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301

Can’t make it out this season, you can order online on their website. Behind the mill, the Franklin Cider Mill hosts a Community Spot, where they host mellow jazz music on the weekends and events throughout the season. Check out their store for fresh made ciders, donuts, pies baked daily, fresh baked goods, caramel apples, and Gus’ Nuts.

Bruce Township

Hy’s Cider Mill // 6350 37 Mile Rd., Bruce Township, MI 48065

Enjoy a caramel apple or donut at one of the many outdoor picnic areas, take a wagon right to the “U-Pick” apples, visit the Hy’s Cider Mill store, and other activities/events throughout the season (weather depending).

Stony Creek Orchards & Cider // 2961 32 Mile Rd, Bruce Township, MI 48065

Why not have a few sips of fresh pressed apple cider with hot, homemade donuts at the picnic area. While you’re eating, kids can play on the straw bales. The drive to the Orchard is scenic, add fall colors and a blue sky to really beautify the drive! Among the U-pick apples, you can also pick pumpkins and raspberries. Inside the store, you can find local honey products, bags of apples, apple goodies, syrups, jams, and jellies.

Casco

Pankiewicz Cider Mill & Farm Market // 10377 Lindsey Rd., Casco, MI 48064

Out in the country, you can find this quiet cider mill. As part of the Michigan Cider Makers Guild, you know they take pride in their cider-making! You can watch fresh cider being made every Saturday. Farm fresh produce is available, there’s a large selection of pumpkins for baking or carving, jams, jellies, honey, corn stalks, straw bales, Indian corn, and gourds for fall decorating.

Cement City

Meckley’s Flavor Fruit Farm // 11025 S. Jackson Rd., Cement City, MI 49233

Take a visit to this picturesque spot, located just outside of Jackson! Along with fresh donuts and cider, Meckley’s offers a full menu on the weekends and you can stay up-to-date with their frequently changing tap list on their website. Weekends are filled with family fun ranging from fresh produce, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, fresh cider pressing, bonfires, and live entertainment. Note: this farm is dog friendly, dogs must stay in outdoor areas.

Coloma

The Jollay Orchards Farms // 1850 Friday Rd., Coloma, MI 49038

Tucked away in southwest Michigan, you can find a seventh generation farm in a quiet corner of Michigan. This hidden-gem is full of fruit orchards, hayrides, fresh-made goodies, homemade jams, jellies, BBQ sauce, mustards, salsas, Signature Cider Donuts, Apple Cider Slushies, and so much more. Long Family Farm is a running farm with garden produce throughout the year, a corn maze, apples, and pumpkins during the fall season.

Detroit

This family owned and operated farm is situated on Detroit’s west side with 139 fruit trees, greenhouses, and family fun. During the fall Harvest Festival, you can find hot cider, donuts, music, vendors, and hayrides through the orchard.

Dexter

Dexter Cider Mill // 3685 Central St., Dexter, MI 48130

Family owned and operated since 1886, this mill has been servicing the greater Ann Arbor area for 132 years! They are the oldest, continuously operating cider mill in the State of Michigan, and that’s a distinction they are very proud of and take very seriously. Take a step back in time as you tour the authentic oak press, local Michigan apples, unpasteurized cider, natural setting along the Huron River, and the history that this farm holds. Enjoy the history, delicious donuts, wood pressed cider, caramel apples, apple nut bread, homemade pies, and other scrumptious treats!

Jenny’s is your one stop shop this season. There are plenty of activities for the kids and places to explore at this farm. You can find fresh produce, house-made canned goods, local grocer items, a haunted straw maze with tube slides, pumpkins, flowers, fresh donuts & cider, apples, and so much more! Ellsworth

Friske Orchards Farm Market // 10743 US-31 North, Ellsworth, MI 49729

Traverse Magazine voted this orchard number one U-Pick farm in Northern Michigan back in 2011! With festive events held throughout the season on Saturdays, you can choose to pick your own fruit, shop the general store, go on a guided wagon ride, orchard walks, visit the farm animal petting zoo, the playground, or the old-world bakery. Why not make a day of your visit and enjoy some house-baked pizza too!

Erie

Fennville

Crane Orchards // 6054 124th Ave, Fennville, MI 49408

Crane’s orchard season begins with sweet cherries, followed by peaches, and it’s nearly 20 apple varieties available for purchase or U-pick. You can also enjoy hayrides, a corn maze, or a ride on the Crow Train. Then, enjoy a meal, a slice of pie, and a glass of cider at the Crane’s Pie Pantry, Restaurant, and Winery.

Fenton

Fenton has some wonderful experiences to offer, so it’s no surprise that their orchards are making the list. Among the usual apple-picking, donuts, corn maze, wagon and train rides, fresh baked goods and picnic tables, they also offer bounce houses, zip line fun, face painting, and so much more! Aside from the farm market & bakery, they also have a Spicer Winery, where you can sample both wines and hard ciders.

Freeland

A family owned bakery, café, and gift shop with over thirty different bakery items, a café meu, and over thirty different Michigan based vendors. You can see a list of their vendors on their website! Voted Mid-Michigan’s Best Apple Orchard, you can find fun-filled activities, homemade baked goods, and fresh pressed pure apple cider at this farm! What started out as a 14 acre farm, now totals at 100 acres! You can find the main barn & store selling apples, cider, and baked goods, rows of raspberries, blackberries, and pumpkins, and sunflower fields. They are continually looking to find ways to provide a family fun experience to the community.

Gladwin

This orchard revolves around memory making, enjoying wholesome days outside, and having a wonderful experience. The orchard has 30+ varieties of apples, hard ciders, orchard store, bakery, cider mills, and an annual Fall Harvest Festival.

Grand Rapids

You just have to check out the fall countryside views of this amazing fruit orchard. You can find fresh, locally grown produce, jams, fruit salsas, local Michigan products, delicious donuts, fudge, cookies, muffins, caramel apples, hand-made, ready-to-bake pies, crisps and apple dumplings. During the holiday season, you can find custom gift baskets and fruit baskets. During the fall season, you can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides around the orchard, u-pick pumpkin patches and apple orchards, and special events on Saturdays!

Robinette’s Apple Haus and Winery // 3142 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525

Open year round, this 100+ year old Orchard has been a treasure in West Michigan. The gorgeous, sprawling grounds include enough activities and spots to explore. Be sure to check out the bakery to grab cider & donuts and eat them at one of the picnic tables. Or if you are feeling a bit peckish, you can head to their dining area and check out their lunch menu featuring: sandwiches, salads, quiche. If you’re of drinking age, you can visit their tasting room for their ciders and wines. Their bakery and gift shops offer other homemade goodies & treats too. Established in 1919, Wells Orchard has been providing fresh produce and local products. Every fall brings award-winning apple cider, ready to bake fruit pies & apple dumplings, fruit salsas, corn and black bean salsas, local raw honey, juices, Michigan maple syrup, and fifteen varieties of jams and fruit butter. The fall is the busiest time of year for this family-owned farm and you can find gourds, Indian corn, hardy mums, cornstalk bundles, straw bales, painted pumpkins, fall festivals, wagon rides, and a pumpkin patch!

Holly

Diehl’s Orchard is open daily mid-August through Halloween from 9am-6pm. They serve apple cider, homemade donuts, apple butter, honey, jams, jellies, pies, candy, apple cider vinegar, Michigan grown popcorn, and many other fall goodies. Located in the quiet country scenery, you feel like you are ‘up North’ rather than a typical Metro Detroit Cider mill. New Boston

Apple Charlie’s Orchards // 38035 S Huron Rd., New Boston, MI 48164

This apple orchard is nestled in a little country setting between Ann Arbor & Detroit. You can find fresh made donuts, apple cider, homemade pies, and many other wonderful goodies in the store. There’s a picnic area & pavilion with a stage for occasional entertainment. There are hay rides, U-pick apples, pumpkins for Halloween, pony rides, and an animal farm.

Northville

Obstbaum Orchards & Cider Mills // 9252 Currie Rd, Northville, MI 48167

Obstbaum offers freshly picked apples, pressed cider, and apple cinnamon donuts. You can take a tour through the mill and see how the cider is pressed or watch the bakers make apple pies. Their estate wines and hard ciders celebrate Michigan’s fruit and local farming. Be sure to have a picnic to enjoy the surrounding orchards and relax outside.

Parmenters Cider Mill // 714 Base Line Rd, Northville, MI 48167

During the season, you can visit the cider mill and winery. This farm has the rustic farm charm and is tastefully decorated throughout. The grounds are kid-friendly (especially for little ones)! With playscapes and activities all around the grounds. You can find numerous picnic tables and shaded areas to picnic while you enjoy your cider & baked goodies. On fall weekends, you can find food stations, fudge stations, craft displays, and much more!

A local favorite, you can find so many seasonal activities and products! Goodison is famous for their Pistachio Nut Bread and cider. The mill isn’t flashy, but their products are high quality! Goodison is one of the most authentic and ‘old-school’ cider mills. Everything is rustic & made fresh. You can even bring your own apples and they’ll custom press your apples for you.

Rochester Cider Mill // 5125 n Rochester Rd, Rochester, MI 48306

Priding themselves on their unpasteurized cider, cinnamon-sugar donuts, vegetables, apples, candy and caramel apples, apple crisp, pies, honey, syrup, popcorn, cinnamon and apple sticks, and farm fresh eggs. While you are there, pick up some of their corn stalks, straw, hay, pumpkins, and other fall decoration goodies. You can find a small petting park, a hay pyramid, antique farm tools, and tour the cider mill to watch the process.

Rochester Hills

Yates Cider Mill is a wildly popular cider mill in south east Michigan and has featured on the Food Network for its apple cider. With 50 varieties of dwarf and semi-dwarf apple trees and acres and acres of hardwood forest, a-blaze in fall colors surrounding the farm, let’s not even mention all the baked goods, hard ciders, U-Pick apples, farm animals, playground, corn maze (Thursday through Sunday), and the Mac ‘n’ Squasher apple slingshot - how is this not the perfect fall spot to see this year?

South Lyon

This farm is designed for large groups of people and boasts that they are ‘still growing’. There is plenty to do for all ages! You can find a large hay maze, goat pen, pony rides, a huge trike trail, corn maze, bouncing inflatables, a tour of the working bee hive, hay rides, giant donuts (in sugar, cinnamon, or pumpkin spice), U-pick apples & raspberries, gourds, mums, cornstalks, hay bales, & fall produce. Stanton

This massive, 188-acre, family farm is award-winning! They host a farm market with homegrown fruits and fall vegetables, fresh bakery items, honey, apple cider, and more. From June through July, you can pick Cherries, Peaches in August, and apples & pumpkins in the fall. From Labor day to Halloween, you can find two petting barns, playgrounds, modern cider mill, wagon rides, five acre corn maze, live family shows, straw mountain, 40ft. slide, wagon rides, black holes, weekend festivals, and, of course, food! Their on-farm bakery makes fresh donuts, their signature ‘flips’, pies, and so much more! Williamsburg

Let’s start planning a fall weekend getaway to Traverse City and while you’re there, you might as well head over to Rennie Orchards. The farm is located atop one of the naturally scenic area’s rolling hills, with a panoramic view of northern Michigan. They have U-pick (or pre-picked) orchards & patches year round from cherries, peaches, apricots, pears, gourds & squash, pumpkins, and, of course, apples! There’s also a hay bale maze, a log cabin & teepee, and a scenic hay wagon ride, all for the kids.

Ypsilanti

Wiard’s Orchards County Fair & Store // 5565 Merritt Rd., Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Wiard’s is the oldest still-operating apple orchard in the state of Michigan! Wiard’s opened their wildly popular “Country Fair,” a fun festival featuring a corn maze, wagon rides, an animal farm, mini golf, play areas, and so so so much more. They host festivities throughout the season, including a spooky 5k run/walk and haunted forest.
