Baby Liggett's Nursery Room Reveal | Mountains, Woodland, Hiking, Camping, Nature, Gender Neutral, Baby Girl
This only took forever and a day to do (the story of every first time mom) - here is my daughter’s nursery room! I’m SO excited to share it too because so many of our loved ones helped fill and decorate the room! Her room is our take on a woodland/camping themed nursery. While we were looking for inspiration, a lot of the camping themed rooms were dark, lumberjack, rustic styled rooms and we didn’t want that. We wanted something timeless, so it would grow up with her, something that would resemble our many outdoor adventures, and something to inspire her.

Our room inspiration also came from a minimal look with hints of natural wood. We love our wooden rocking chair, natural wood picture frames, wood side table, and wooden crib. To make the room more nostalgic, our rocking chair has been passed down in the family and the baby blankets were all handmade - both being gifts to my mom had her baby shower for me. The best way to fill a room with cozy vibes, is by finding vintage crochet blankets or vintage quilts! You can look online for those, or check out your local thrift stores and estate sales.
Tip: When my mom was decorating for our baby shower, she chose items that would double as nursery decorations.
This cute fox pillow was found at Target, and is no longer sold unfortunately. We love our cloud mobile, which I think adds to the natural touch with its cotton fabric and neutral tones.
We also wanted to decorate Evelyn’s room with art from local artists! So the photograph hanging up behind the rocking chair was taken by myself and we commissioned a painting for her picture wall. When I was planning her picture wall, I knew I wanted a canvas with artwork to tie in the theme of the room and an inspirational quote for our children to look up to. I was also gifted the framed mountain card by my grandmother one year. It’s a card made by a Vermont artist of Bromley Mountain (where I worked the summers I went out there).
I loved having this cozy sheepskin rug in her room. Mixing textures and natural materials is a great way to make a minimal space still cozy and comfortable - plus it also goes with the theme. Once Evelyn began moving, we swapped out the sheepskin rug for an easy to clean, low-pile rug.
I LOVE her accent wall. Ours was actually hand painted and inspired by a mountain decal I saw once. Charlie and I sketched the mountain range and my wonderful mother painted it! I just love how it turned out and I think it resembles our many hikes and love of the outdoors. Everything on this picture wall, except the “believe in yourself” canvas, came from Hobby Lobby. Her tie blanket was hand made by my Sister-in-Law.
Montessori Hangers
Behind the bedroom door, we hung up a rustic coat hanger at our child’s height for when she’s older. I love the rustic, yet neutral feel that it adds. It doesn’t scream ‘cabin vibes’, and it’s a mama bear and her cub, which I find just perfect for this woodland nursery. On it, we have our diaper backpack and pocket diaper wet bags. Above it is a head band hanger that my grandmother made filled with bows she made.. The canvas on top is a woodland thumbprint tree guest book from the baby shower!
Closet Organization
Evelyn’s closet! I’m not a fan of dressers, so we chose to do baskets instead! Most of her clothes are hanging on green felt hangers, while the rest get folded into outfits. The upper left basket has outfits, plain bodysuits for layering, and her pajamas. The upper right basket hold all of Evelyn’s pocket cloth diapers. The lower left basket holds her socks, tights, and shoes while the lower right holds her crib sheets and muslin swaddle blankets.
I put all of her smaller head bands in the black canister from Marshall’s and we use this cute wooden dispenser from Ikea for Evelyn’s lotion and her fox laundry hamper was from At Home.
Reading Time
I’m currently obsessed with her book shelves! We asked for books instead of cards at her baby shower, so we needed a system to hold all of the wonderful stories she received. We went to Ikea to grab some white boxes to organize the books in, and we found them in green instead! The color matched PERFECTLY! We couldn’t believe it. The little animals were from Hobby Lobby as well and her beautiful swan rocker was Evelyn’s first Christmas gift from my sister-in-laws!
And that’s our woodland nursery room! I hope you all enjoyed it and as always, I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
xoxo
