Hello friends! We spent our Thanksgiving enjoying some time at the cabin and in Traverse City. You might be thinking, “Traverse City? Where can you eat a Thanksgiving meal there?” It has been my families tradition to go up there ever since most of our family moved away or now has families of their own. My mom never liked cleaning out a turkey anyways! My family and I enjoyed this for a couple years, then Charlie and I hosted dinner when we started dating for the past couple years, and this year we wanted a break. There use to be many places to eat Thanksgiving dinner here! We tried the Casino one year, Ponderosa (they are closed now), and this year we were able to get a reservation at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. The view and the dinner was breath-taking!
Because I didn’t want to cause a scene, I took all of those photos with my phone! I even edited them with my mobile presets - which you can grab here.
Afterwards, we spent a few hours at the resort hanging out and taking pictures. Then we headed back to the cabin for the night. We planned on hiking all day Friday and we wanted to be well rested for the cold.
On Friday, we met my parents for lunch before they headed back home and then we went to Old Mission Peninsula. We weren’t originally going to spend our time hiking the Peninsula, but the trails were fairly empty and we were already there! I do want to apologize to the hunter we ran into, our dogs probably scared away anything you could have caught that evening!
My Jeep hat is from a wonderful and local company called Detroit Shirt Company. I am not sponsored by them, I just really like their products and have been the first to go in my luggage when we are packing for a hike!
I hope this post made you hungry and if you are ever feeling adventurous on Thanksgiving, make a reservation at the Grand Traverse! The food is well worth the drive!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and until next time,
xoxo Searra (313 Studios Photography)
