Bubble Guppies 2nd Birthday Party | Evelyn's Second Birthday
When it comes to birthdays, we definitely prioritize seeing family over the current concept of birthdays. In addition to that, we weren’t able to invite everyone we wanted to for Evelyn’s first birthday. We still didn’t invite everyone, but we felt comfortable branching out to more extended family this year!

Evelyn very rarely watched TV at the time, but when she did it HAD to be Bubble Guppies. So there was no doubt in our minds that we were going to have Under the Sea and Bubble Guppies themes for this birthday. Including her handmade dress by me!
For decorations, we repurposed my sister-in-law’s “TWO” banner from her son’s birthday. We decorated a chalk banner sign from Evelyn’s baby shower. We also decorated the pavilion poles with green streamers for ‘seaweed’.
We had a little too much fun planning and naming our sea inspired menu!
Clamwhiches (ham & cheese sliders)
Shark Fins & Chum (Chips and salsa)
Chicken of the Sea (Indian Butter Chicken)
Gold Fish Guppies
S.S. Davey Jones Eggs (Deviled Eggs)
Sea Vegetables (Vegetable tray)
Other than the rock candy, I had all the desserts made by Abbie (my amazing cousin in culinary school!). She made a stunning Bubble Guppies cake and I feel so bad that our hot weather melted it on the way to the party. She made beautiful cake pops that were a HUGE hit, so we will be doing that again each birthday. Then we had rock candy and shark jello-cups.
We had her birthday at a lake park, which was another big hit. For activities, I made water balloons, we brought squirt guns, bubble wands, and our Bubble Guppies bubble machine. It was a wonderful, bubble-filled birthday!
I wanted to make our daughter a festive outfit to wear for her party, so I sewn an Oona inspired swim dress with smocking at the top. Then I made a felt purple star clip just like Oona’s purple starfish.
I know this is a year late (mom life) as we will be celebrating her 3rd birthday in a few weeks, but I had to share it before I started sharing this year’s birthday party! I love finding sustainable ways to celebrate holidays and parties, and incorporate such fun themes for our daughter. Birthday parties were always my favorite growing up and I hope to make them just as memorable for our daughter.
