After walking around and checking out all of the trucks, we made a game plan: one person stays in line to grab the food, the other stays at the table with the food and our daughter. Our meal of choice was from D&W’s Street Eatery, where we ordered the 2 burritos for $10. My protein of choice was the smoked beet and my husband got the smoked pulled pork. If you are a plant-based eater/vegan/vegetarian like me, their smoked beets were AMAZING. We also split their ‘flat tired’ (elephant ear).
Then we headed to the Cheese Trap truck and grabbed fried pickles & cheese curds. If you haven’t been to Frankenmuth and grabbed a fresh lemonade, you are missing out. I swear they have the best lemonades I have ever had!
Then for dessert, we took our chances waiting in the line for fried Oreos from Fun Food Express.
The sunset was gorgeous! It was pouring rain when we arrived. But by the time we had made our rounds and decided what we were going to eat, the sky was clear, blue, and the sun was golden!
While Evelyn and I waited for the Oreos, we played around in the green. I’m not even sure how many times we played Ring Around The Rosie when another family showed up and she finally had someone else to run around with.
There were so many options and definitely food for all diets, so be sure to shop around before you pick! I can’t wait to try something different next month.
Do you have a favorite food truck in Michigan or what is your go-to food truck order? Let me know in the comments! I’m always shopping for new places to eat or recipes to try.
