Personal: Easter Recap
I have to say that celebrating the holidays as a parent has been one of my favorite things! I went a little overboard with Evelyn’s Easter basket this year, but there was a lot of stuff on clearance that I wanted to get her for her playroom. But I think her favorite part was definitely finding the eggs hidden around! I didn’t hide too many because I wasn’t sure how she was going to do. But after she found them all, she wanted to keep going back outside to see if there were more eggs. We even have a neighbor who decorates her tree with eggs and Evelyn wanted to snatch those up!

We celebrated at our house on Saturday with my parents. So after the egg hunt and basket, we started to get the house all ready! We also still had to dye our Easter eggs. So while I cleaned inside the house and got started on the food, Charlie and Evelyn cleaned outside while dying our eggs.
This was our second year attempting natural dyes and I think I still didn’t get the recipe right. The colors didn’t really stick, but they did stick better than the previous year so I guess that’s something!
Red: Dragon Fruit
Orange: Onion skins
Yellow: Tumeric
Green: Spinach
Blue: Blue Food coloring
Purple: Blueberries
Dinner Menu:
Bread rolls
Honey glazed carrots
Home grown green beans with bacon
Deviled Eggs
Build Your Own baked potato
Pasta Salad
Salad
Rotisserie chicken
After dinner, we went and got some ice cream, walked a local park, and we all enjoyed some time reading in bed.
After everyone finished church service on Sunday, we all brought over plenty of food to Charlie’s grandparents and hung out on their back porch enjoying the nice weather.
We finished our Easter weekend by taking our new (to us) bikes out to Independence Oaks County Parks. Evelyn LOVED her first bike riding experience and we can’t wait to enjoy more! We rode 4 miles around the scenic park.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything to celebrate?
